OUR MISSION:

To encourage kids from impoverished communities around the world to set goals for their future careers through educational tools, therefore inspiring them to become excited to learn, pursue a path out of poverty, and become hopeful for a better future.

WHO ARE WE?

We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization started by Brophy College Prep students inspired by an immersion trip to villages in El Salvador in May of 2022. The people we encountered and the hospitality that we were met with transformed our way of thinking about the real world. We became dedicated to making a difference by taking steps to help the Salvadoran communities, and similar communities around the world, receive the resources to break out of generational poverty. We created this organization to work with many different charities that fund the education of kids living in impoverished communities by providing tools that inspire learning. With the services that we provide, Cultivate Careers can completely change the course of a kid’s life and end a cycle of poverty for their family.

Educational Tools:

What exactly do we mean by Educational Tools? We define educational tools as objects that promote a fun and clever way of learning. Staying in line with our mission, every tool is associated with a career in some way. Tools that introduce kids of all ages to a career inspire kids to set a goal for what career they want to pursue, therefore giving them a sense of purpose and source of motivation while in school.

This is a different approach to the common toy drive, book drive, or school supplies drive. We personalize every package of educational tools for every community that we benefit because no two communities are the same. We pride ourselves on our personalized, direct communication approach with our charity partners, which allows for only the most beneficial tools to be donated to every community we work with.

Tools for Toddlers and Preschoolers

At this age, kids are becoming aware of the function of objects. They begin to be entertained by playing pretend. The concept of playing pretend supports the use of role-play toys. Tools such as play kitchens, doctor's kits, dolls, or stuffed animals would be extremely fun while also hopefully planting a seed that will grow into a real goal for a future career.

Tools for Junior High Students

This is the time when talents and interests take hold. Every task is done with more care and they might even spend hours doing and learning about what they love. Educational tools such as chemistry sets, binoculars, telescopes, or other tools that promote discovery and problem-solving in and out of the classroom can allow a kid to pursue their interests, and, therefore, stay motivated to learn.

Tools for High School Students

After junior high, education should be taken more seriously. This is the time period where your education forms the young adult that you will become. Helpful resources to keep high schoolers motivated for school are educational career textbooks that give a glimpse of what their future might hold.
